Seniors' Centre
Looking for a place to meet, chat, learn a new skill or play a game? Visit the Oakridge Centre's drop-in centre for adults 55-plus. You'll be in good company. With over 600 members and a history that spans decades, the Centre is run for the mutual benefit of seniors in the community
For only a $12 annual fee, come and take advantage of this space provided by Oakridge, which includes a lunch counter, craft and card-playing area, and a lounge with a TV and reading area. The kitchen serves snacks as well as hot meals, sandwiches and desserts.
Oakridge also provides regular free use of the Oakridge Auditorium for Tai Chi, Fun & Fitness classes, line dancing, and more. Or take in a game of Whist, Crib, Mah Jong, or Bingo. Whatever your game, you'll find someone to play with.
Other services and events include:
- Blood Pressure clinic,
- Spanish language classes
- Quilting classes
- Supervised bridge
- Five-pin bowling
- Regular day trips, concerts and much more.

Walking Club
Time to grab those walking shoes and join the Oakridge Walking Club. We believe in the 3 F’s: Fitness, Fun and Friendship. If this is what you're looking for, then you've found the right club!
By signing up and becoming a member, you can access our Walk the World program, and collect special mileage pins as you walk the equivalent of Canada and other countries. Regular mall walking in and around our comfortable environment of Oakridge Centre is a low-risk, effective way to keep in shape!
HOURS
You are welcome to walk at any time during mall hours, but our specially designated walking times are:
Monday to Saturday: 7:00 am – 9:30 am
Sunday: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
Regular walkers usually meet at designated spots.
MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES:
- A Walking Club Progress Chart to record the kilometers that you have walked.
- A Walking Route Map indicating acceptable routes applicable to our Walk the World program.
- Your very own I.D. pin to stick onto our world map to visually track your progress.
- A B.C. Provincial pin to start you off on our Walk The World program.
- Subsequent provincial achievement pins, which will be awarded upon arrival at designated cities along the mapped highway route.
- Invitations to breakfast meetings featuring guest speakers who are knowledgeable about health issues.

Seniors' Cinema
Join other senior members of our community for a friendly afternoon out at the movies. Our movie program means seniors, 55 and over, can see big screen films for a minimum donation of $2.
These movies run the first Wednesday of every month, at the Empire Oakridge Cinemas at Oakridge Centre, at the 41st and Cambie entrance.
All the donations go to Canuck Place Children's Hospice for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Enjoy a night out and do your part for the community.
